Hello and welcome

I am DJ Melodica (aka John)

Welcome to what I hope will be a fun place for you. I like lots of music, all kinds mostly odd and off kilter. Lots of candy for the eyes and ears.

I’m a kid born in the 60’s to parents from

the depression with 5 siblings before me. There was music always playing.

In one day I would hear classical and big band swing from my parents, garage rock and freak scene from my oldest brother, Jazz fusion and early electronic from my middle brother, bubblegum pop and folk from my sister, protometal and punk from brother 6 years older. I woke up to Holst, ate breakfast with Glen Miller, had playtime with The Kinks and The Sonics, ate lunch with The Seeds and Captain Beefheart, jumped on the bed with Sly and The Family Stone and Mandrill, and slammed around the room to Sabbath and Stooges.

What the heck am I holding in front of The Duster?!?

This made me ready for the 80’s and 90’s

Puyallup Washington is a small community on the I5 corridor between Seattle and Tacoma and less than an hour from Olympia. It’s a town whose biggest claim is it’s Fairgrounds and if you went to it you probably parked in front of my house.

I had the privilege of growing up in and contributing to one of the most vibrant and influential music scenes in the 80’sI was in Muck and it was hardcore!

I stared deejaying at Church dances and parties. Later I spun before and between bands at shows and then have had nights of my own. I may have them again. Who knows. Meanwhile I am sharing with you my wacky world hoping you are wacky too.

All links to music will be posted in comments.
